We designed a flap for the chocolates, and a wallet for the chocolate tablets. The decoupage was made by the Swiss artist Mrs. Dubuis and the Chinese artist Mrs. Wang. In the center a Chinese style rooster holding a peony, because it was the year of the rooster. The rooster represents merit and fame, masculinity, it wards off evil spirits. Also a Chinese zodiac patron saint. Inside the wing of the rooster, a Ruyi flower can be seen. Said to fulfill all wishes. Near the bird’s legs an old Chinese coin, symbol of wealth and prosperity, and at the top and close to the peony, an Edelweiss, symbol of nobility as well as courage. It’s the Swiss national flower. The peony represents wealth, honor and femininity. It’s the Chinese national flower. All surrounded by everyday scenes of the region.
